Ways That Make Sitting In Meditation Easier

The whole process of meditation may seem to be peaceful and easy on paper, but the act of sitting down and sitting down may be quite difficult.  Meditation is an art that slowly builds up over weeks, created through comfort, patience, and minor adaptations. Often, a minor alteration in attitude, position, or surroundings can be noticed by a number of individuals. Through a bit of practice and self-compassion, meditation can slowly start becoming less troublesome and more of a rest in the middle of the daily routine.

Adjusting leg position without pressure

The legs cannot be put in the right way. Straddling them, kicking one, or keeping feet on the floor may all be possible choices, and it depends on what feels comfortable at that time.

Setting a reasonable time limit

Meditation may be more friendly by beginning with a shorter sitting time. The process of gradually increasing the length of time may occur naturally as the individual becomes more comfortable and becomes accustomed to it, without forcing themselves to go through frustration in the initial stages.

Creating a calm physical space

It can be a silent and clutter-free environment that can be used to indicate to the body to relax. A pleasant spot can be a chair or sofa with soft lighting, a breeze, or a spot in a room that is a familiar spot to sit down and make sitting down less of a task and more of a pleasant routine.

Wearing relaxed clothing

Tight or tightened clothing may prove to be very distracting. Wearing loosely fitting and breathable clothes can enable the body to relax much more, as there is no need to adjust or fidget during the practice.

Softening expectations about stillness

The experience of meditation is not always serene and attentive. It is possible to embrace the states of restlessness or discomfort in the experience to relieve internal pressure and overall make sitting less challenging.

Using the breath as an anchor

The practice of mindfully observing breathing can give one something to go back to when the body is troubled. This focus may assist in a process of changing the focus to not focusing on the uncomfortable situation without attempting to deny it in its entirety.

Allowing thoughts without resistance

Physical comfort may be subject to mental restlessness. The internal tension of letting thoughts pass through without involving them may ease the tension in the mind, and that may indirectly affect the internal feeling of the body during sitting.

Practicing after light movement

One can think of light stretching or walking beforehand as a means of relieving stiffness. Once the body has been physically heated and relaxed, it can be more natural and less shocking to the system to stay still.

Accepting that comfort can change

Something that is comfortable today might not be comfortable the following day. It is possible to remain versatile and allow the readiness to change the posture or the method, which will help to retain a more benevolent relationship with meditation.
